SmartBot - We've had a number of visitors
asking where they can get a free autoresponder. This is
the best one we've seen. (An autoresponder is a service
that automatically responds to any E-mail message sent to
it with your custom message). Among other things, it's a
helpful tool for Web site businesses. SmartBot offers
loads of features, including unlimited automatic
followups, an opt-in list builder and a Web-based control
panel.
(Note: signing up with this service means that you'll be
receiving "occasional commercial E-mails," but
you have the option to be removed from further mailings,
without losing your account).
MessageX - This innovative new free service
lets you turn your pager, or your PCS phone, into a
wireless messaging center. Thus, anyone with Net access
can reach you, 24 hours a day, no matter where you are.
With MessageX, anyone can send you a message, using your
regular E-mail address.
ListBot - This
service offers a free mailing list for your Web site.
ListBot's mailing lists allow you to send announcements

information once and can manage all of their
subscriptions from a single Web site. This is the best
free mailing list provider we've seen.

private and all the lists are archived. Private list
archives can only be viewed by list members.

telemarketing lists, and allows you to select the types
of messages you want to receive electronically (and be
paid to read). Note: you must be a registered to vote in
the U.S. to use this service.

that allows you to listen to your E-mail from any POP3

then respond using any of four pre-defined replies that
you've created. You can also send audio replies to any
other CoolMail member, and they can reply to you. The first 60

Cool List - - This service offers free
Web-based mailing lists that are easy to set up. This
one-of-a-kind service does have major problems, though. We have had many
complaints about Cool List. From our own experience, we
found the service was often too slow. Also, at times you
might find your messages don't get sent out (or get sent
out twice). Not recommended.
