Phaistos now has an extensive administrative section that offers tons of ways to customize your guestbook's appearance, fields and functions. There's also a template collection, so you can easily have the guestbook match the look of your home page.   • Alx Guestbook Service - Axl offers a versatile free guestbook service that may be used by individuals or companies. This service offers some helpful features: message censoring, appearance control, easy font settings, etc. Their support is helpful. View an example of this guestbook.
  • Tealnet.com Guestbooks - Here's a fast-growing free guestbook service that we recommend very highly. Just fill in your information and this service will generate an HTML page for you. Then, save the HTML file to your server and you're all set. You can also download your own maintenance form, so you may choose which entries you'd like to keep or delete. You also have the option of having your visitors (and/or yourself) receive an E-mail after your guestbook has been signed. Also, you may customize the layout with your preferred background image, link colors, etc. Go here for an example. There is also a helpful "profanity checking" feature, and you may edit your guestbook online, as well. Besides English, this guestbook service is offered in Spanish and French.   • Dreambook Guestbook - This free service lets you completely customize your guestbook to match your site. In "normal editing mode," you can select from a variety of templates. If you switch into "advanced mode," you can edit the HTML directly to make your own custom forms. You decide what fields appear in your guestbook, and how they are arranged. You can even ask your visitors questions and create complex questionaires. Visitors have reported tech problems lately, such as images appearing as broken links on guestbook entries. Tech support is difficult to get here, our visitors report.
  • TheGuestbook.com - This is a free guestbook service, which is administered in Sweden (but hosted in the U.S.). Offers many features and is highly configurable. It's supported by advertising (a banner is placed at the top of each guestbook). View an example here. We've had a few complaints that this service has been down occasionally lately.
  • Bravenet.com - This popular Webmaster site offers an excellent free guestbook service. Here, you can get a fully-customizable guestbook. Be sure to check out Bravenet.com's other free services, such as a local search engine for your site, free Web forums, hit counters, E-mail forms and more.
  • 1-2-3 WebTools - This site offers free personal guestbooks that can be customized with your own colors, logos, text and background images. Easy to set up. Click here to see an example. They promise a free message board service soon. This service has encountered some problems lately. Some visitors have reported entries unexpectedly deleted and error messages when they try to access their guestbooks.
  • Patricia Enterprises Guestbook - Here's a free guestbook server that offers many features. For example you can delete unwanted posts and use a background image to match your own site. There's a password-protected administration page. You can also have your own "Thank You" message automatically sent to those who sign. Many more options are available, as well. Here's a sample.
  • 3AWeb.com's Free Guestbooks - Here's a solid, easy-to-set-up free guestbook service. Just fill in the blanks and click the "submit" button and you're all set. View an example here.
  • BeSeen.com free guestbooks - This is a good, up-and-coming free guestbook server. Easy to set up and you can customize the way it looks. Note: this service is not available for porn-related sites. Here's an example of their service.
  • GuestWorld - By far the largest free guestbook server. Just sign up and they'll E-mail the coding to cut & paste onto your page and presto!---you're up and going. GuestWorld (formerly called LPage) has recently added a number of nifty new features to their service, such as visitors stats and a form that lets you automatically E-mail everyone who's signed your guestbook. There's also an extensive control panel that offers many features, such as message filtering, profanity checking, etc. Besides English, GuestWorld is also offered in German, Italian and Swedish. Here's an example. Note: you're limited to 250 entries in your guestbook here. If you exceed that limit, older entries will be deleted (although you can save your entries as a database file to your hard drive at any time).
  • ToonzBook - A free guestbook service from the Netherlands (in English). The site is very new and still under construction, but worth a look. Tell Yong we sent you.
  • Plaza Hotel Guestbooks - This is an interesting new free service that provides easily-configurable, professional-looking guestbooks. It's easy to set up and if you already have a GuestWorld account you can quickly transfer your data here. View an example here.
  • Guestpage.com - This guestbook has several specialties that others don't: it can determine whether the message of the guests contains bad language or not; when a guest signs your guestbook, the program will automatically E-mail to you and the guest at the same time; this guestbook can calculate how many message you have in your guestbook; you can edit or delete your message if you don't like what guests wrote on your guestbook. Over 20 different graphics layouts available. Here's an example.
  • Linko guestbook service - This Korean service offers a free guestbook. They also offer free counters and message boards.
  • Guestbooks.net - An up-and-coming free guestbook service. You can personalize every feature of your guestbook through the site's "administrator" function.
  • Web Diner Guestbook Templates - Add some style to your site's guestbook with the cool templates offered here. Lots of neat designs. Usage requires a linkback. Their guestbooks require a "mailto:" form to receive responses from your visitors. Go here for information on "mailto:" forms.
